Description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Research Engineer to design and apply state-of-the-art research in machine learning for data-centric problems! Your responsibilities will extend to the design and development of a comprehensive data selection, curation and annotation framework for multimodal foundation models at apple. We are looking for people passionate about innovating and applying ML algorithms that enable us to create high-quality and impactful datasets. As part of this role, you will explore and research solutions that allow us to optimize the recipes for training foundation models at scale for various capabilities. You will also work on setting up comprehensive evaluation pipelines that allow us to measure and benchmark progress of foundation models.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated expertise in computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning with a passion for data-centric machine learning.
• Deep understanding and expertise in multi-modal foundation models.
• Staying on top of emerging trends in generative AI and multi-modal LLM.
• Strong programming skills and hands-on experience using the following languages or deep learning frameworks: Python, PyTorch, or Jax.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with end-to-end Machine Learning Lifecycle
• Demonstrated evidence of prior experience and expertise in data-centric machine learning research
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ph.D/MS degree in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Data Science, Statistics or related areas

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
